Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Associate Traffic Engineer to join our team! In this role you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other technical professionals and become an integral part of a project team. The ideal person will be interested in performing a variety of tasks associated with Traffic Design and Traffic Analysis for our Transportation team.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Assists the lead engineer or manager in conducting traffic analysis
  • Analyze traffic data including but not limited to traffic volumes, speed, and crashes
  • Assist in developing traffic signal design and signing and marking design
  • Performs various engineering related calculations and analyses in the application of the basic design criteria necessary to complete assigned projects
  • Collaborates with CAD technicians, designers, and other team personnel to complete projects efficiently and accurately
  • Contribute to production and development of engineering designs and specifications
  • Apply knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics
  • Coordinates the preparation of data tabulation/evaluation and assists in report writing
  • Perform other duties as requested

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or any other closely related field
  • 0-3 years of overall and progressively responsible experience with public and private sector projects
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office tools such as Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with colleagues and clients
  • Effective writing skills to assist with report writing, and presentations

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Proficient in MicroStation/AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge of traffic engineering and/or traffic modeling software such as VISSIM, HCS, Synchro and Sidra
  • Pursue EIT certification

Salary Range:

$24.18 - $42.31
