Agilent's Genomics Division is one of the most rapidly evolving businesses within our company. We seek a leader for our marketing team, a highly visible role in Agilent's rapidly growing genomics business. You will be instrumental in driving the execution of programs that include clinical genomics applications that enable breakthrough insights in clinical research and precision medicine. You will report to the General Manager, with frequent exposure to Agilent executives. In this role, you'll act as a senior leader in the Genomics business, contributing to portfolio strategy and planning, and driving execution of lifecycle programs. The successful candidate will manage a geographically diverse team in a highly collaborative environment, requiring agility and decisiveness to drive success in a dynamic environment.

Build a Talented Team Across a Diverse Product Portfolio

  • Develop and manage a world-class marketing and product management team
  • Mentor leaders across the organization and recruit, hire and train managers and individual product managers
  • Manage a diverse product portfolio comprising hardware, assays and software
  • Be the champion for the team's shared successes

Champion the Business Internally and Externally

  • Evangelize the strategy and products externally with collaborators, at conferences and through direct customer interaction
  • Actively engage with executives and across functions to educate and advocate for our customers' needs and point of view

Identify opportunities to drive growth

  • Deep knowledge of the markets and technologies we serve and intend to serve including research and clinical genomics, next generating sequencing, microarrays and CRISPR
  • Deliver in-depth customer analyses
  • Identify opportunities to partner with other Agilent divisions and develop joint business cases
  • Lead the development and execution of the product marketing strategy, resulting in the preparation of the annual division review and operating plan
  • Propose and drive business acceleration initiatives such as white space analysis for various segments, segment level growth opportunities

Provide a view of the marketplace

  • Understand evolving market trends including emerging technologies and applications
  • Define Agilent's value proposition and positioning the genomics portfolio
  • Gather data and formulate analyses for established and emerging competitors
  • Engage internal partners to assess potential partnerships and/or acquisitions

Provide a view of the customer

  • Understand and communicate evolving trends in genomics technologies across geographies and industries including trends in cloud computing and genomic data processing and management
  • Partner with the commercial organization including regional marketing and sales to (1) understand and address new and existing customer trends and challenges, and (2) drive deeper enablement and collaboration
  • Lead efforts for the development and enhancement of tools for voice of customer and user needs toward establishing best practices and standards across the marketing organization
  • Bridge data and insights from order and CRM systems, voice of customer, interactions with field sales and support teams, and industry and outside research to drive the business forward
  • Develop and use data-centric approaches and models to develop forecasting tools and key success metrics for the business.

Qualifications

  • Master of Science in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, bioinformatics, or related discipline required. PhD preferred, MBA a plus.
  • 7+ years of sales or marketing experience in Genomics or related field. Experience in clinical markets a plus.
  • Demonstrated use of marketing skills and market knowledge to define strategy and commercialize products that drive business success on schedule and on budget.
  • Experience in working with worldwide customers and a strong advocate for customer focus and customer driven development.
  • Ability to communicate and discuss molecular biology and clinical applications in NGS, microarrays, and CRISPR based gene editing with internal scientists and customers.
  • Exceptional cross-functional communication skills - proven ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate teams.
  • Ability to travel, up to 25% time, both domestic and internationally.

The US pay range for this full-time position is $183,792.00 - $314,525.00/yr, plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum new hire pay for the position across the relevant US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
