Associate - WestExec

WestExec Advisors, a boutique strategic advisory firm, is looking for an Associate to support the firm’s goal of providing unparalleled geopolitical risk analysis and other advisory services to our clients. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with impeccable judgment, excellent writing and research skills, and strong communication skills. What you’ll do:

• Provide daily support to firm leadership, including by drafting research and analytic papers, slide decks, proposals, strategies, talking points, and other products as needed
• Simultaneously manage and track multiple large projects, processes, and workflow to ensure client work is delivered on time and to clients’ precise specifications
• Closely track geopolitical and technology issues key to clients’ interests
• Proactively generate ideas and content, as appropriate, to best support clients, improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the firm, and identify new opportunities
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of international relations, the U.S. policymaking process, and the intersection of emerging technology and national security
• Impeccable judgment and discretion
• Strong ability to self-manage; ability to ask for help when needed and proactively find solutions
• Ability to read between the lines and anticipate needs of clients and teammates
• Attention to quality and detail
• Flexibility and responsiveness to changing needs and priorities
• A “quick learner” mentality, eager to thrive in a high-tempo environment • Enthusiasm and commitment to the success of the firm

Preferred Experience:

• Master’s Degree or 2 – 4 years’ relevant work experience
• Previous experience staffing a principal
• Previous experience on Capitol Hill, in the executive branch, and/or at a strategic advisory firm
