Associate – Worker Solutions

Lafayette Square is an impact investment platform working locally to create an inclusive American economy. Through capital and services, Lafayette Square seeks to invest in diverse middle-market companies, within overlooked communities throughout the United States. The platform utilizes a combination of place-based sourcing, alongside its financial, technological, and operational expertise to unlock value for its portfolio companies. The firm is led by Damien Dwin, who founded the firm in 2020. 

In addition to Lafayette Square’s targeted investing, we aim to strengthen the work experience and well-being of employees at our portfolio companies by incentivizing and coordinating the delivery of enhanced employee benefits and services. Lafayette Square’s Worker Solutions platform provides significant managerial assistance to portfolio companies through the combination of i) incentives, ii) workforce analytics, iii) curated services and HR policy changes, and iv) strategic consulting. Curated services and HR policy target improvements to the financial health, education and training, and health and wellness of workers across the Lafayette Square portfolio, while improving recruitment, retention, and productivity of our portfolio companies. Worker Solutions provides this managerial assistance to companies beyond the Lafayette Square portfolio as well. 

Job Summary  

Worker Solutions seeks an Associate to support its client engagement efforts for Lafayette Square portfolio companies and off-portfolio business. This position will also be responsible for managing content updates; data analysis; translation of outcomes and key learnings for investor, client, and public-facing materials; and developing and managing processes to capture qualitative data and worker voice.  

Responsibilities 

  • Translate analysis from employee data and survey data from portfolio companies to inform recommendations for potential services and HR policy changes 
  • Generate content for portfolio company and client “Know Your Workforce” assessments 
  • Prepare materials and communications to support portfolio company and client engagement  
  • Support portfolio company and client onboarding processes 
  • Support the Worker Solutions team’s Salesforce data entry and data hygiene, generating recommendations for system enhancements as appropriate 
  • Manage the Worker Solutions team’s quarterly monitoring and reporting to inform portfolio company and client engagement  
  • Translate results of the Worker Solutions platform through periodic impact analysis of key performance indicators related to service adoption and uptake, outcomes for employees, and return on investment for portfolio companies, generating content and insights to support investor relations, distribution, deal flow, and Lafayette Square Foundation objectives 
  • Manage regular content updates for case studies and marketing materials 
  • Design and manage processes to capture and elevate worker voice, impact stories, and other qualitative data on results of the Worker Solutions platform 
  • Stay engaged and informed about trends and recent developments in the nonprofit social services, social enterprise, public, and community development sectors 

Requirements 

  • Strong academic record with bachelor's level required; Master’s degree in Public Policy, Social Work, Public Health, Economics, Statistics, or related social science field preferred 
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant professional experience 
  • Must have demonstrated excellent oral, written, interpersonal, organizational and follow-through skills 
  • Familiarity with key issues, policies, and solutions for low-to-moderate income (LMI) families and communities, including financial well-being, workforce development, and physical and mental health 
  • Knowledge of public policy, including local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations related to social services, financial services, housing, and community development 
  • Experience with client-facing roles and quantitative and/or qualitative methods is a plus 
  • Commitment to pursuing impact through a place-based lens 
  • Experience with and commitment to utilizing technology for streamlining processes, workflows, and efficiency 
  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills  
  • Must be a self-starter and collaborative, team-player 

 

Compensation 

$100,000 - $150,000 per year
