The primary role of the Manager - Finance and Accounting is to manage the monthly financial reporting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, corporate credit card program, capital assets, monthly accrual process, travel management system and automated purchase order system. Additional duties and responsibilities will include process improvement, assist with monthly closings and be cross trained in additional finance department duties, as required.

Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable:

  • Manage final invoice approval

Account Receivable:

  • Interpret third party contracts; generate monthly invoices; book receivables, manage collections, resolve disputes

Capital Assets:

  • Manage globally distributed capital, which includes tagging, record keeping, depreciation schedules, disposals, sales, donations compliance and procurement resources

Purchasing / Procurement System:

  • Primary administrator of the Medius system
  • Support and system troubleshooting for all Avid employees
  • Review all purchase requisitions for accuracy before the creation of a purchase order
  • Monitor ordering, processing, price negotiations, analysis, reporting, invoice reconciliation, material receipt
  • Review and approve contracts within given ATC level

Process Improvement:

  • Work with team members to improve, modify and update existing policies, processes and procedures and identify and recommend new policies, process and procedures. as required by our parent corporation guidelines and Avid objectives, according to accounting regulations i.e. GAAP, FASB, IRS, IFRS
  • Maintain current policies, processes and procedures

Month-End Closing:

  • Manage the accrual process
  • Develop and post accruals
  • Prepare schedules as needed
  • Prepare corporate and department monthly financial reports
  • Submit monthly financial data to Lilly systems
  • Analyze financial reports and explain variances to budget
  • Run monthly internal department financial reviews for assigned departments
  • Create monthly informational reports

Budgeting:

  • Assist with preparation of annual and quarterly budgets for the parent company

Travel Management:

  • Manage the travel management system and travel management company
  • Review for approval out of policy travel requests
  • Train new employees on use of Concur
  • Manage the corporate credit card rewards program

Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • A minimum of three years of accounting experience

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, strongly preferred
  • CPA helpful
  • Working knowledge of accounts payable, account coding, and general ledger reconciliations
  • Strong accounting knowledge
  • Proven ability to accomplish defined goals and objectives
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Experience with SAGE Intacct helpful
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Positive attitude and strong customer service orientation
  • Team player with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to handle competing deliverables with various levels of complexity
