Atlassian System Administrator/Developer

Based out of Rocket Lab's new Long Beach, CA Headquarters the Atlassian System Administrator/ Developer is responsible for leading the administration of Atlassian products, create and project workflows and help guide and maintain the organization of data within the system. You will support the IT director and IT organization, with deliverables required for internal leadership, board of directors, and investors.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:

• Administer Atlassian products including Jira, Confluence (system level, not just project level)
• Create complex Jira workflows, project workflows, field configurations, screen schemes, permission schemes and notification schemes
• Create JQL queries, filters, dashboards and reports
• Troubleshoot access and/or performance issues, engaging Atlassian and/or app vendor support when necessary
• Design, test, and deploy changes to dev, test, and production Jira environments using Configuration Manager app
• Interact with Project Managers, Managers, Developers, Infrastructure Engineers, Practice Teams, Stakeholders, and other Administrators
• Create, manage, support, and operate all administrative functions associated with the Atlassian products as outlined by the sponsoring practice team
• Maintain a Customer Service-driven mindset and cultivate strong relationships with other teams

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED and 3+ years of IT experience
• At least 3 years of experience working with Atlassian products
• Expertise in Jira and Confluence administration, with at least 2 years of experience with Jira administration and/or development
• Hands-on experience using JIRA REST APIs for integration with other tools and Integration/Automation frameworks
• Proven track record with Atlassian installations, migrations, and upgrades
• Excellent Linux skills with at least 2 years of experience
• Proficiency working with PostgreSQL databases

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

• 5+ years IT experience strongly preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A motivated self-starting personality, able to work independently while maintaining patience with interruptions
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholder requests
• Comfortable working with critical and sensitive systems, with a sense of urgency appropriate to the responsibilities
• Willingness to learn automation and containerization
• Able to work collaboratively, function as a part of a team, and take on more responsibility to assist teammates, if necessary
• Bachelor's degree in Technology, Business, or a related field
