Forbes Vetted is seeking an experienced audience development lead to oversee our growing commerce distribution team.

This role will be charged with cultivating and maintaining a highly engaged audience outside of search for Forbes’ consumer product review brand, Forbes Vetted. As manager of the commerce content distribution team, you will oversee a team of 3-4 direct reports and will lead them to develop and implement effective growth, engagement and revenue strategies for all distribution channels and platforms, including but not limited to: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, newsletters, SMS, push notifications and content aggregators. The ideal candidate is a seasoned distribution manager or growth strategy pro with deep experience leading social media teams as well as newsletter operations, and preferably with direct prior experience related to shopping-focused editorial and affiliate commerce content. You should know how to leverage testing strategies, internal and external data to amplify audiences and grow revenue, while also maintaining the Forbes Vetted brand voice and identity. While SEO knowledge may be helpful in this role, you will not be tasked with managing SEO or on-site content strategy and will focus solely on distribution content. This role will report to the Forbes Vetted Executive Content and Strategy Director. 

This is a remote role with an option to commute to the Jersey City Forbes office if desired

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing all content production and strategy for Forbes Vetted distribution channels, including social media platforms, newsletters, push notifications, SMS, and content aggregators
  • Directly managing a team of 3-4 content marketers, including our social media manager, social video producer, and senior distribution strategist, plus collaborating closely with our art, editorial and data teams
  • Developing and implementing effective audience and revenue growth strategies for all existing distribution channels, plus identifying new opportunities based on emerging trends, competitor analysis and consumer insight
  • Working with Forbes Vetted leadership to determine KPIs, then tracking the success of distribution content strategy and growth tactics, continually iterating and optimizing to achieve our business goals
  • Refining the voice of Forbes Vetted social media, newsletter and SMS content with input from Forbes Vetted brand stakeholders
  • Maintaining documentation for distribution channel best practices 
  • Working with the Forbes Vetted Executive Managing Editor to create effective distribution plans for all editorial packages and holiday sales tentpoles
  • Supporting holiday sales tentpole coverage, which may include working some holiday weekends such as Memorial Day, Amazon Prime Day, and Black Friday/Cyber Monday

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience working with a major media website, digital marketing or ad agency 
  • 3+ years managing and developing staff 
  • Direct prior experience managing digital audience acquisition, preferably for a media brand covering consumer products in one or more of our coverage areas
  • Proven track record of developing and driving revenue growth plans, preferably in the affiliate commerce space
  • Direct prior experience implementing paid social strategies
  • Can guide remote staff to create top-quality work, and coach them to improve when necessary 
  • Has knowledge of and appreciation for Forbes Vetted’s brand mission of providing best-in-class shopping advice to savvy consumers
  • Loves digging into data and has deep experience with digital analytics tools and expert-level grasp of commerce strategy KPIs
  • Demonstrates great organizational skills and attention to detail; experience with project management tactics and tools a huge plus 
  • Is a superb verbal and written communicator who is able to manage the flow of information up, down and across teams


The annual base salary range for this role is $110,000 - $130,000

Forbes has estimated the compensation range set forth above in good faith.  The compensation range is what we believe we will offer, and ultimately pay, a successful candidate.  In determining this range, we consider the experience, level of education (if applicable to the role), knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be had by a successful candidate as well as the budget and the company’s pay rates, generally.
