Job Description
I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
Dotdash Meredith is looking for an experienced and creative Audio Editor, Engineer and Producer with experience
producing podcasts. They will assist the Executive Producer of Lifestyle Audio in the production of multiple
podcasts across well-known consumer media brands. This person will be responsible for recording both remote and
live interviews, and delivering polished high quality audio podcasts. They will also asisst with other aspects of
production, such as preparing interviewing guests, working on transcripts, and production workflow. The right
candidate will have high level knowledge of audio editing, mixing, mastering, and audio repair skills. They will also
have an eye and ear for identifying compelling elements of audio and editing them into a clear narrative.
II. Essential Job Functions• Record podcast interviews (both remote and in-house) and voice overs, ensuring that high-quality audio is captured and
delivered and consistent sound levels are achieved. Coach talent and guests on recording best practices before and during
the interview. Help with technical issues that arise during interviews.• Deliver several rounds of audio edits for the podcast. The Audio Engineer and Producer will have the ability to present a
polished product. They will edit, mix, master and repair audio (remove background sounds, plosives, etc.), have the ability
to enhance audio and speech quality, and add audio clips that may be referenced or used during the interview (sound bites,
etc). The person in this role will also add intros, outros, voice overs, sound design and/or music cues (music layering), and
make room for midroll advertisements or host read advertisements.• Oversee podcast trailer production and creation.• Record, edit, and mix podcast encores, compilation episodes, advertisements, promotional material, and social media
assets like audiograms. The ability to deliver audio in a fast turnaround may be necessary.• Oversee transcription, transcribing audio into text, story editing transcripts for content and clarity. Identify compelling
elements of audio and edit them into a clear narrative.• Assist with production and operational workflow, helping with booking and scheduling guests, aiding in background
research, topic research and voiceover scripting.
III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Extensive knowledge Recording software/ DAWS (such as Protools or Adobe Audition)• High level knowledge of multi-track audio editing, mixing, mastering, and audio repair (using Iztopes,or something
similar), and sound design• Recording expertise in remote (we use Riverside.fm), studio, and field environments, including the ability to record
interviews using cell phones (for guests that do not have access to• Must have extensive knowledge of recording software and equipment ( including industry standard microphones,
mixers, cabling, and live setups.• The ability to handle the production of multiple podcasts at one time• A firm understand of production and operational workflow• Creative storytelling expertise• Interest in home, garden, food, travel, and music

Pay Range
Salary: $71,400 - $85,680
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
