Audiovisual Engineer
Job Description
The Audiovisual Engineer will support and maintain all audiovisual systems for commercial and residential properties. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all related hardware and equipment. The engineer will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and assistance where required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Direct involvement in all aspects and phases of audio visual projects (i.e. programming, design, construction
- administration, etc.)
- Attend internal and client meetings as needed both onsite and remote.
- Provide direction and create red lines / sketches to / for production team members and perform QC checks on
- all deliverables prior to release to clients, architects, construction firms, integrators, etc.
- Create and document AV budgets for projects
- Develop AV system designs and perform all necessary engineering tasks to ensure the designs meet client needs,
- expectations, and budgets
- Create, QC, and issue equipment lists, system drawings, details, system specifications, etc.
- Work in collaboration with the project manager to ensure the design intent, client needs / must haves, and any
- field design notes are covered by the system design
- Ensure industry best practices and company standards are used consistently and effectively
- Participate in building and maintaining company standards by conducting lessons learned sessions, by continuing education, and by participating in R&D for new products
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Oversee system integrator efforts as required
- Review submissions and shop drawings
- Assist directly and indirectly with all aspects of site coordination as needed
- Assist directly and indirectly with technical aspects of the system and with system commissioning as required
- Assist directly and indirectly with creation, maintenance, and updating punch lists as required
- Assist directly and indirectly with end user / client training, as required
- Review as-built and closeout documentation for accuracy
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Proficiencies:
- Exceptional communications skills, verbal and written.
- Must have very good phone etiquette.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Must be customer-focused, work well in a team-oriented environment, and provide quality service for the business client.
- Must pay very close attention to detail.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a computer related field or equivalent work experience.
- Industry standard certifications (CTS Certification at a minimum) preferred.
- Industry standard certifications (CTS-D, CTS-I, Crestron Programmer certifications) preferred.
- AV manufacturer or industry related training and certifications (i.e. SynAudCon, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Audiovisual systems and software required.
- Working knowledge of video distribution required.
- Experience with Remote support tools.
Other Requirements:
- Must be available to support 24/7 environment and participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
- Position will require a minimum of 40 hours per week unless otherwise directed by supervisor.
- Must be capable of lifting and/or moving weight of 50 to 70 pounds.
- Sitting - up to 8 hours per day.
- Mobility -ability to reach equipment and perform some diagnosis and limited repair in limited space.
- Bending, Stooping, Lifting, Reaching - to pick up boxes of small to mid-sized equipment or computer paper or files.
- Fine Motor Skills - typing, 10-key, ability to write for extended periods of time.
- Communication - phone communication, communication with personnel and Vendors.
- Hearing - able to understand personnel, vendors, and supervisors.
- Seeing - able to see the computer screen and to endure the "eye strain"
- Climbing - able to go up and down stairs.
- Travel - Up to 50% travel possible
- Position will require a minimum of 40 hours per week unless otherwise directed by supervisor.
