The Auditor examines and analyzes accounting records for the Distribution business. This includes Branch Accounting issues and audits, general ledgers, review accounts payable, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and fixed assets.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Reviews data regarding material assets, net worth, liabilities, capital stock, surplus, income, and expenditures.
• Reviews to determine if accepted accounting procedures are followed in recording transactions.
• Maintain internal controls for revenue and costs.
• Bank Reconciliations
• Verifies journal and general ledger entries of cash and check payments, purchases, expenses, and trial balances.
• Sales tax review.
• Month-end close and trial balances.
• Audits (both internal and external), including annual bank exams and year-end financial audits.
• Fixed Assets.
• High level of involvement with all functional areas of the company.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Exposure to and experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing setting. Analyze standard costs vs actuals and monitor and explain variances.

Required Experience and Skills

• 2-3 years of accounting/auditing experience
• Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software
• Good communication skills for communicating with support personnel and management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
• Open to learning new systems

Preferred Experience and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field preferred
