Author & Publisher Relations Coordinator

Description

TeachingBooks is looking for an Author & Publisher Relations Coordinator to bring the backstories of children's and young adult literature to readers everywhere. You will be working with authors and publishers, supporting and fostering relationships while producing original content that reveals insights about books and their creators for the school and library markets.

This is a full-time, hybrid on-site/remote position based in Cleveland, OH or Madison, WI. The person who fills this role will be a key member of the TeachingBooks Collection Development team, reporting to the Manager of Collection Development.

In this role, you will:

• Interview children's and young adult authors to create TeachingBooks original materials.
• Build and support relationships with the children's and young adult publishing industry to produce and acquire materials about their books.
• Help coordinate the numerous details of production and distribution of TeachingBooks original materials.
• Proofread interviews and transcripts for adherence to English writing conventions, such as spelling and punctuation.
• Enter posts for the TeachingBooks WordPress blog.
• Learn about trends and publishing in children's and young adult literature.
• Participate as a member of the social media team.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in English or Journalism, or equivalent skills and experience.
• Experience working with artists and amplifying their diverse voices.
• Exceptional communication skills via e-mail, phone, Zoom and in-person meetings.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Interpersonal, networking skills.
• Ability to use a variety of online communication and information platforms.
• Experience with interviewing and/or recording podcasts preferred.
