Auto Auction General Sales Manager - ADESA Los Angeles

Salary: $85,000 to $100,000 DOE plus 25% bonus
Must haves:
- Sales expertise and a current book of business at dealerships in the Los Angeles Metro area
- Solid outside sales experience [must be a hunter!]
- Prior automotive industry experience
- 3 or more years of management experience
- Must be computer and tech savvy
- Must know how to train, motivate, and develop a high performing sales teamÂ

Our goal is to provide a simplified and seamless customer experience across our end-to-end vehicle remarketing services for both car buyers and sellers. You will also find motorcycles, RVs, boats, and more through our online platform as well as our physical auctions nationwide. Our advanced tools and comprehensive services make buying and selling vehicles more profitable and effective—before, during, and after the sale.
About the role:
As an ADESA General Sales Manager, you will be a true sales hunter to drive our business forward and spark passion in your team to do the same. Â You will lead by example, generate new business, close deals, and develop a high-performing sales team to exceed expectations. You will execute the overall sales strategy and inspire the team to achieve success.
Primary duties include:
- Lead by example: manage and develop the sales team
- Generate new business leads and close deals
- Effectively execute and lead ADESA’s Dealer Sales strategy
- Influence and lead others as a people, customer, and business manager
- Engage with customers and employees in a transparent, reliable, and positive manner
- Demonstrate knowledge of products and services
- Maximize technology
About you:
You are a true sales hunter, passionate about growth and demonstrate our core values daily. Â You communicate effectively and are great at nurturing and maintaining relationships. Â You are always connecting with others within the industry, and are highly knowledgeable about your team, your customers, and the local market. You possess a strong understanding of sales process, metrics, and how to ultimately close the deal.
You will experience success if you possess these attributes:Â
- Excellent leadership skills and strong communication skills
- Sales-focused, with an organized and systematic approach
- Detail oriented, accurate, and consistent; Positive, motivating, and encouraging
- High School or GED required; College education preferred
- Two or more years of supervisory experience; automotive industry experience preferred
- Successful previous experience as a sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
- Qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possesses a valid driver’s license
