Job Description

Are you a visionary that wants to design and develop test automation strategies to drive high quality software? In this critical role of Automation Architect at Ridgeline, you will have ownership of driving our Quality Engineering transformation, leading us in defining and developing our CI/CD test automation strategies.  This is a rare opportunity to add your own vision, passion and interests to define the test processes and technology needed to scale our rapid software delivery and deliver highest quality.  We’d love to have you come join the Ridgeline Quality Engineering Organization in shifting left to improve our time to market, reduce error and reduce costs. 

What will you do?

  • Define the future vision of test automation frameworks and processes at Ridgeline
  • Understand how the current state of test automation aligns with Customer requirements
  • Identify test automation gaps and recommend efficiencies from a technical and functional perspective
  • Define automation best practices and processes within CI/CD development practices
  • Provide strong problem solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot automation issues in a complex environment
  • Work closely with Quality Engineers to ensure automated tests produce consistent and stable results
  • Collaborate across Product Management, Product and Platform Engineering, Infrastructure and Operations, and SRE to strategize and align on long-term solutions for test automation
  • Lead and mentor Quality Engineers in developing new skills and advancing their careers
  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends and best practices within quality engineering to identify ways to innovate

Desired Skills and Experience

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of experience in building and implementing software automation testing with industry wide used automation tools such as: Karate, Cypress, Cucumber, PACT, Gatling, JMeter, SonarCloud 
  • Experience with testing methodologies such as manual, automated, black box, regression, exploratory, and performance testing
  • Experience with Agile methodologies like Scrum, Extreme Programming, or Behavior Driven Development
  • Experience in using tools to log and manage test results with the ability to create and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases with these tools
  • Understanding of test data management in Dev/Test/Release environments
  • Working knowledge of software development languages: Java, Kotlin, Python, TypeScript
  • Serious interest in having fun at work

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in Quality Engineering transformations to Shift-Left testing
  • Experience with CI/CD 
  • Experience with investment/asset management applications
  • Familiarity with development build and deployment environments

Compensation and Benefits 

[For New York and California Based Only]

The cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $180,000 - $262,000 for individuals based in New York and California. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amount listed above.
