Automation Engineer

The Automation Engineer focuses on designing and developing the test plans, along with building, and executing manual and automated test scripts. While working independently with limited supervision, this job applies up-to-date information on the detailed technical design and testing of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Conducts requirements gathering and analysis to understand the domain of the software problem and/or functionality, the interfaces between hardware and software, and the overall software characteristics.
• Uses programming, scripting, and/or database languages to write automation test scripts.
• Models key business processes and critical paths while assessing the impact of technology on business processes.
• Supports software deployment, maintenance, and evolves activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding automation test scripts enhancements and maintenance.
• Maintains records for the documentation of systems development and revisions.
• Coaches and reviews the work of lower level professionals.

Required Skills:

• 2 or more years of experience creating test plans and scenarios
• 2 or more years of experience writing and executing SQL queries
• 1 or more years of test automation experience using Selenium or Cucumber

• 2 or more years of experience with Java development
• Experience with Postman (or SoapUI)
• Financial Services Experience preferred

Potential Salary: $98,000.00 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
