SUMMARY

First United Bank is building a progressive technology team. We are looking for an individual who is a team player and is passionate about taking their engineering experience to the next level.

As Automation Test Engineer at First United Bank, you will have the opportunity develop test scenarios for process, function, integration, and acceptance testing. You will define and maintain test system configurations and perform test executions while writing test scripts for complex, integrated systems.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Develop, build, test, and deploy Automation tools to create consistent, verifiable, and automatic management of services and applications.
  • Web, API, UI, functional, regression, smoke, sanity, exploratory, load, security, performance and end to end testing.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and oversight of CI/CD Pipelines.
  • Gather and analyze requirements and develop test plans for the validation of solutions.
  • Contribute to the company change management and release process.
  • Sound understanding and ability to operate under Agile development practices.
  • Managing and tracking work using management tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps.
  • Set up and maintain standards for maintenance and operation of Automation frameworks.
  • Write test scripts, execute test automation, and analyze test results for complex integrations.
  • Produce reports and documentation for test output. Includes test activities, results, data, defect logging, tracking, monitoring and reporting.
  • Open to occasional manual tests / ad-hoc testing or defect analysis.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESONSIBILITIES

  • Completes all required compliance exams on a yearly basis.
  • Adheres to all First United Policies and Procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

EMPLOYEE SPECIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields with equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years as an API automation test engineer.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience with supporting software project testing: following test strategy and test plans, designing and executing functional/regression tests, preparing test data, bug tracking, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of developing and implementing applications in modern general purpose programming languages. Prefer experience with C# / .NET Core, Java, JavaScript /TypeScript.
  • Knowledge of the concepts, philosophies, and tools behind the design of Enterprise applications, information, and underlying information technologies (preferably in the Financial Services domain).
  • General experience in supporting, developing, designing, and implementing technology solutions on large scale enterprise initiatives - preferably in Financial Services industry.
  • Demonstrated application of skills and knowledge across digital technologies (Cloud, Data, Security, Application Architectures, APIs, Microservices, Event Streaming, Automation) and with Agile delivery methods (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Experience writing SQL Queries and general understanding of relational database concepts.
  • Experience using Automation Frameworks such as Selenium or Cucumber.
  • Experience with API Automation testing.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, writing, and presentation) with all levels of employees and management; capable of successful formal and informal communication.
  • Experience operating in a Kubernetes/Docker Azure environment
  • Experience with Salesforce is preferred.

TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES

  • Technically competent in automation engineering disciplines.
  • Expertise with Agile, Cloud, Devops Methodologies and CI/CD Pipelines.
  • Well versed with test management and test automation tooling.
