Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Automation System Engineer - Team Leader to join our Technology Solutions Group in Atlanta, GA. As a member of the team, the Automation System Engineer - Team Leader works within many of GP's multiple businesses with focus on the prioritization, scheduling and development of Georgia Pacific's Automation System Engineers across the enterprise.

Our Team

This is a dynamic role that allows you to work with and through your team to achieve Georgia Pacific's manufacturing priorities. If your passion is automation and leading and developing technical resources, this role is for you. This position would report to the VP - Automation and Robotics Center of Excellence

What You Will Do

  • Managing the resource pool to ensure the resources are flowing to the highest value work.
  • Developing a (4) week look ahead on resourcing and travel plans for resources with input from key resources.
  • Developing a process for measuring and prioritizing work when resources are not in the field.
  • Developing travel plans with distinct objectives for site visits with a process for exit meetings and detailed trip reports.
  • Managing talent to ensure that contributions and performance are at or above market alternatives. Having the courage to make changes as needed.
  • Building and developing talent. Having Individual Development plans for each employee to ensure that their contributions are maximized, and they are self-actualized.
  • Day to day responsibility for 20 - 25 hourly employees
  • Working with Platform leader to ensure automation is performing as expected. Deploying resources to the highest value opportunities
  • Ensuring that embedded Automation Platform Techs are completing Preventative Maintenance as required and measuring productivity. Identify innovative ways to supplement them to complete these tasks with lowest total cost of ownership.
  • Work directly with Automation Monitoring Center to determine priorities for resource deployment and effective utilization of travel and travel costs.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Able to travel up to 50%
  • Experience leading technical teams.
  • Reliability experience with technology

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in a technical field
  • Experience leading & scheduling remote technical resources.
  • Knowledge of customer service & leading field engineers
  • Knowledge of SAP/MP2
  • Experience / familiarity with AGV's and Robotics
