Automotive Controller

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the accuracy of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial concepts, and regulatory requirements. This role is critical in providing strategic financial guidance to support our organization's growth and sustainability. Duties • Manage all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting. • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP and SOX compliance. • Develop and maintain financial forecasts to guide strategic decision-making. • Oversee the preparation of budgets and monitor performance against those budgets. • Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and regulations. • Conduct regular audits of financial processes to identify areas for improvement. • Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process. • Provide training and support to accounting staff on financial concepts and best practices. • Write comprehensive financial reports for internal stakeholders that clearly communicate financial status. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred. • Experience with Dealertrack DMS, DLR, & other required softwares • Proven experience in public accounting or as a Controller in a similar industry. • Strong knowledge of debits, credits, and overall accounting principles. • Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements is essential. • Experience with governmental accounting practices is a plus. • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to forecast financial trends effectively. • Proficient in financial report writing with strong attention to detail. • Ability to work collaboratively across departments while managing multiple priorities.
