Helm.ai builds AI software for autonomous driving and robotics. Our "Deep Teaching" methodology is uniquely data and capital efficient, allowing us to surpass traditional approaches. Our unsupervised learning software can train neural networks without the need for human annotation or simulation and is hardware-agnostic. We work with some of the world's largest automotive manufacturers and we've raised over $100M from Honda, Goodyear Ventures, Mando, and others to help us scale.

As the Autonomous Vehicle Operator (AVO) you will be a part of a small and dynamic team where your contributions directly shape the future of our autonomous driving technology. Your efforts collecting impactful data collection will help empower our engineering and research teams to innovate and excel.
You will:
- Be available and comfortable to drive 80% of working hours (25% of this will be driving at night). The driving schedule includes multi-day trips (4-5 days at a time) about once or twice per month, as well as local driving (1-2 day trips). These trips include but are not limited to Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, and the local Bay area.
- Navigate urban areas as well as highway driving.Β
- Support test activities including vehicle preparation, driving the autonomous vehicle, tear-down and data collection.
- Perform support and testing while monitoring and validating data.
- Conduct hardware troubleshooting for electro-mechanical functions.
- Work hours will predominantly be weekdays, with some occasional weekends depending on the needs of the company.
You have:
- 5+ years of safe and professional driving experience (Uber/Lyft included).
- Have some familiarity with Linux; ideally you have experience working with PCs (either professionally or personally).
- Familiarity and ability to use PC platforms and command prompts.
- Basic understanding of electro-mechanics is highly preferred; basic understanding of wiring systems (from professional OR personal experience).Β
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, goal oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability and willingness to travel.
- Valid driverβs license and a clean driving record with no gaps in drivers license for 5 years.
- Must currently reside in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Ability to pass a drug screen.
- Able to work evenings and/or weekends when necessary.
- CDL is a plus.
Pay Range: $36.00 - 39.00 per hour
Assignment Length: 4 month contract-to-hire
