AV Engineer

About the Position

We are looking for an experienced Audio/Video (AV) Administrator to help support and grow our robust and resilient AV infrastructure. Technology is a key component of Jane Street’s core business and our AV needs are evolving as we grow. 

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting all audiovisual systems and collaboration platforms. This role also provides live-event support in a hybrid environment; you should have extensive experience managing multiple audio sources, video distribution, video recording, Crestron control systems, and collaboration platforms such as Zoom and Webex in a large auditorium setting. 

The AV team supports the design and build of meeting spaces and event spaces. You will be empowered to look for ways to optimize the conference room and general AV experience across our offices. You should be passionate about the Audio/Video technology space and eager to help solve business issues by researching, testing, and implementing these technologies.

This role may also require some physical labor, including lifting. 

About You

• 7-10+ years of experience performing a similar role in a comparable role in positions of increasing responsibility and independence
• Able to prioritize tasks and projects, as well as forecast upcoming project needs
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction; must be a self-motivated self-starter who can initiate ideas and take ownership of work
• Expertise designing and supporting AV-heavy spaces such as conference rooms, classrooms, auditorium/lecture halls, and multi-purpose spaces
• Proficiency with the technical production and support of company events and the hands-on delivery of all events
• Experience supporting live events over collaboration tools like Zoom, Webex, and other cloud conferencing solutions
• Experience with control system platform certifications (e.g., BiAmp, Q-Sys, Extron, Crestron, Dante), as well as Cisco video conferencing solutions
• Demonstrated skills and experience working with and managing various vendors, suppliers, and integrators
• Have an understanding of networking fundamentals (e.g., vlan, basic routing, video transmission over network, and audio/video signal flow)
• Willingness to help onboard, train and mentor less experienced team members, including providing guidance on operations and execution.
• Willing and able to travel to other offices as needed
• Fluency in English required
