Role Summary/Purpose:

As a member of the Pricing COE team, the AVP - Accountholder Pricing (Surveillance and Governance) is responsible for developing and implementing part of the first line of defense monitoring routines. Collectively, the Accountholder Pricing Surveillance and Governance team is responsible for, among other things, ensuring compliance with CTCs, Process Risk Controls (PRC), Issue Remediations and serve as leads for engagements with Internal Audit, Risk Testing, and Internal Control. The team also ensures monitoring of controls (surveillance) for compliance with CTCs, Policy, Procedures and other requirements. Additional responsibilities may include, but not limited to, ensuring the proper resolution of gaps in processes and recommending process improvements, assisting with the governance of Pricing Sub-Committee, pricing complaints review and monitoring, etc.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • This role has primary responsibility of ensuring compliance and regulatory expectations are met for the Pricing COE processes
  • This role works closely with other members of the Accountholder Pricing team to identify the reviews and tasks to be completed during the year
  • Ensure Synchrony complies with laws, regulations and legislation, including but not limited to Regulation Z and AA, Fair Lending and UDAAP
  • Develop, implement, and execute surveillance and monitoring reviews/routines efficiently and effectively, in an organized manner, and within the established time frames
  • Drive effective identification and management of compliance risks, provide solutions, and assist with resolution
  • Ensure significant risks are promptly escalated to the appropriate level through the prescribed protocol or seek guidance as needed.
  • Embed into the business effective tools, systems and controls for analyzing and monitoring regulatory risks (e.g. EWRs)
  • Establish effective relationships with cross-functional areas that influence compliance of Pricing owned CTCs or processes
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and make overall processes as efficient as possible
  • Partner with key functions within Synchrony: Legal, Compliance, Risk, Internal Audit, IT, etc.
  • Review customer complaints related to Pricing to provides insights to the business and/or escalate further
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or in lieu of degree, 8 years equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years in financial services, surveillance, audit or compliance experience

Grade/Level: 11

The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • N ew hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
