THE ROLE
A key leader within the Client Success team at SFS, this role is responsible for the loan underwriting, collateral management, and servicing for a portion of the SFS loan portfolio, as well as strategic initiatives designed to support and fuel the growth of the business.Â
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide effective day-to-day management for the US-based clients within the loan portfolio, establishing effective relationships in order to provide world class operational support through origination and servicing activities.
- Build internal partnerships across Sotheby’s to efficiently coordinate and perform operational tasks including diligence activities, collateral valuation and management, and disbursement/collection of funds.
- Track, prioritize, and act on key loan life-cycle events to ensure clients are properly supported, and risk to the portfolio is effectively mitigated.
- Obtain approval for terms by drafting and presenting Credit Memos to appropriate levels of SFS Leadership.
- Coordinate with Legal and Finance to draft and execute contracts for new loans, amendments, renewals and consignments.
- Participate in the OKR development process, identifying and prioritizing key goals for the department.
- Onboard, train, and manage a team of Associates and Analysts.
- Proactively identify areas of improvement, recommend potential solutions, and implement changes to drive operational efficiency while maintaining internal controls and data integrity.
- Assist leadership in efforts to build and streamline operational processes and infrastructure, including process mapping/documentation, product testing/integration, and KPI development & monitoring.
- Ensure proper risk mitigation via interpretation and adherence to the SFS Credit Policy.
- Assist in and/or lead cross functional projects as identified, including both internal and external audits.
IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degrees & certifications a plus)
- 6+ years of professional experience, preferably in a client facing or financial services role
- 2+ years of people management experience
- Prior art experience is not required, but an interest or curiosity in art or other luxury objects is encouraged.
- Client service minded, with excellent verbal and written communication skills & ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization Â
- Excellent analytical skills and financial acumen.
- Diligent and self-motivated, with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
- Well-organized, reliable and capable of working well as part of a small focused team.
- Strong project management skills; able to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Flexible with the ability to adapt, multi-task and problem solve.
- Previous financial services experience particularly around credit and leveraging of client assets.
- Fluency in a second language would be advantageous.
The proposed base salary for this position ranges from $125,000-$175,000. In addition to base salary successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus, as well as a competitive benefits package. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.Â
