Role Summary/Purpose:
The AVP, CDP Customer Data Platform Infrastructure will serve as the primary leader of Synchrony Customer Data Platform's ('CDP') data integrations, driving the identification, ingestion, extraction and quality of data into and exiting the CDP. This role will work cross-functionally to understand data requirements, source applicable data and establish platform integrations and connections across Synchrony and with external partners and providers.
In addition, this role will support the vision, strategy and planning of the Customer Data Platform as well as the broader Marketing Technology stack.
Essential Responsibilities
- Ensure the day-to-day operation and health of the customer data platform in support of the broader marketing technology stack
- Responsible for the technical design and configuration of the platform's data architecture and identity resolution logic
- Responsible for the identification and integration of 1st, 2nd, & 3rd party data sources supporting marketing use cases and strategic initiatives
- Provide the technical ETL requirements for data assets across supporting internal, partner, and/or supplier platforms
- Develop and implement ETL processes within the CDP to include data prep, cleansing, and hygiene
- Collaborate with MarTech leadership and other internal cross-functional stakeholders on the development of the CDP data roadmap
- Provide related expertise, insights and recommendations regarding complimentary technologies further enabling the art of the possible for digital activation
- Serve as a key partner and subject matter expert across the organization regularly interacting with all levels of the organization.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with focus in Computer Science, Marketing Technology, Information Technology, Engineering and/or Data Analytics or, in lieu of degree, a high school diploma/GED and 8+ years of technology, marketing platforms, digital media and/or audience management experience
- 5+ years of professional experience, to include (can be concurrent):
- At least 3+ years experience working directly with Customer Data Platforms
- At least 3+ years experience working in Information Technology or Digital Marketing
- At least 2 years data integration development experience
Desired Characteristics:
- Knowledge and expertise managing complex enterprise Customer Data Platforms
- Experience with data management and data governance practices, including data quality, cleansing, and metadata management
- Experience designing and implementing complex data models
- Experience working with multi-platform ETL processes and managing & troubleshooting data collection protocols
- Strong proficiency with API/Webhook integrations, JavaScript tags and working with tag management platforms
- Experience with SQL, Python, R, or SAS
- Experience with SnowFlake, Kafka, Splunk
- Technical knowledge and understanding of digital advertising delivery and media tagging
- Experience in Agile methodologies and processes
- Strategic and creative thinker always focusing on innovation solutions
- Proven experience synthesizing insights from structured analyses to inform business decisions and communicating with stakeholders in an effective manner.
- Deep knowledge of industry trends relating to customer data platforms, audience development and digital marketing strategies
- Broad experience working with internal cross-functional partners (i.e., IT, Enterprise Operations) to ensure alignment of priorities and requirements.
- Experience with consumer financial services organizations, preferably with exposure to credit card marketing or retail marketing, consumer protection, privacy and related laws and policies.
- Understanding of governmental privacy regulations on the collection and use of customer data (such as GDPR and CPRA) and its overall impact[s] to marketing strategies.
Grade/Level: 11
The salary range for this position is 75,000.00 - 150,000.00 USD Annual
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
Eligibility Requirements:
- You must be 18 years or older
- You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
- You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
- New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
