Role Summary

The AVP, Customer Data Platform Strategist will serve as the primary leader for driving forward-thinking customer engagement strategies that leverage the power and capabilities of the CDP. This role will work cross-functionally to advocate for the use and adoption of CDP features across Synchrony marketing partners.

In addition to overseeing and promoting the CDP campaign strategy opportunities, this role will support the vision, strategy and planning of the Customer Data Platform as well as the broader Marketing Technology stack.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic, omni-channel activation use cases leveraging the customer data platform and existing MarTech platform solutions
  • Develop scalable enterprise journey solutions across enterprise marketing and servicing sites connecting data assets (1st-3rd party; known and unknown)
  • Establish strategic CDP capabilities & KPIs to help further drive enterprise adoption and user engagement
  • Work closely with Demand Generation partners, understanding capabilities and opportunities across owned, earned and paid media channels.
  • Provide strategic insights with/to internal stakeholders into the 'art of the possible' of the customer data platform and digital audience activation
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations regarding complimentary technologies further enabling the art of the possible for digital activation
  • Conduct strategy sessions across business verticals grooming client needs into actionable development backlog items
  • Provide strategic implementation support to existing MarTech teams
  • Serve as a key partner and subject matter expert across the organization regularly interacting with all levels of the organization.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree with focus in Marketing, Engineering and/or Data Analytics or, in lieu of degree, a high school diploma/GED and 8+ years of data science, digital media and/or audience management experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience, to include (can be concurrent):
    • 3+ years experience developing omni-channel marketing strategies
    • 3+ years experience in audience development and/or marketing universe and segmentation strategies across all channels
    • 3+ years hands-on experience working directly with digital media marketing campaigns across paid, earned and owned channels, experience with social media platforms and Google Analytics preferred.

  • Significant hands-on experience and industry knowledge designing and delivering digital marketing activation strategies
  • Demonstrated understanding and command of customer-facing platforms, applications or technologies.
  • Strong command of digital marketing activities, including omni-channel strategies that incorporate social, SMS, email and display engagement
  • Strategic and creative thinker with successful history of synthesizing insights to inform business decisions and lead strategic discussions; providing innovative thought leadership and developing actionable outcomes with tangible results
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of digital advertising delivery and media tagging
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and processes
  • Experience in developing and leading nascent enterprise initiatives.
  • Broad experience working with internal cross-functional partners (i.e., IT, Enterprise Operations) to ensure alignment of priorities and requirements.
  • Experience with consumer financial services organizations, preferably with exposure to credit card marketing or retail marketing, consumer protection, privacy and related laws and policies.
  • Understanding of governmental privacy regulations on the collection and use of customer data (such as GDPR and CPRA) and its overall impact[s] to marketing strategies.
  • Experience in growing and developing team members in a manner consistent with platform vision, company culture and customer success.

Grade/Level: 11

The salary range for this position is 75,000.00 - 150,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
