AVP, Enterprise Risk Management
Job Description
A typical week might include the following:
- Leads the Compliance, Audit and Enterprise Risk Management teams developing and coaching them to achieve high performing results.
- Determines, implements, and facilitates the operation of the credit union's risk management, compliance, and audit processes and the creation of appropriate infrastructure for these areas. This includes leading the Credit Union's compliance and regulatory examinations.
- Collaborates with appropriate executives and Senior Vice Presidents to establish the control environment that measures and monitors risk; oversees and enforces risk management policies and limits; collects and assesses risk data; identifies risk ownership gaps; and instills the discipline to close significant gaps in risk management capabilities.
- Develops and communicates risk management policies and limits as approved by the Board, CEO, and the Risk Management Committee.
- Implements appropriate enterprise risk training and reporting to the Board, Supervisory Committee, Enterprise Risk Management Committee and members of Senior Management.
- Facilitates sharing of best risk management practices across the organization.
- Any other duties as assigned.
This role might be right for you if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related field.
- 10+ years of senior level experience leading Risk Assessment or Risk Management teams in financial services.
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience.
- At least one year of experience in risk at a financial institution with assets at or above $9B or as a regulator of financial institutions with assets at or above $10B.
Bonus Points if you have:
- MBA or Master's Degree.
- CRCMP - Certified Risk and Compliance Professional
- Professional Risk Manager (PRM)
- Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)
- Experience working for a state or federal financial institution regulatory body (i.e. National Credit Union Administration; Arizona Department of Financial Institutions)
