Role Summary/Purpose:

Reporting to the JCPenney - Acquisition and Activation Manger, this visible role will lead marketing efforts to grow JCPenney credit consumers across a variety of financial products and channels. Key to the continued turnaround and growth of the JCPenney portfolio, this position will work directly with the client, the JCPenney client team, and across the Synchrony enterprise to drive acquisitions and consumer onboarding strategies for our full suite of product offerings.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Execute the marketing plan to ensure new account growth and optimize cardholder engagement for the JCPenney credit card portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with JCPenney partners as a point of contact for marketing programs and legal reviews.
  • Manage statement marketing channel including client 3rd party inserts.
  • Work closely with Performance Marketing and Legal to implement marketing plan for cardholder programs and client initiatives.
  • Work with JCPenney Field Sales Team on in-store initiatives, contest, spiffs and etc. as needed.
  • Work with subject matter experts to estimate size, develop business requirements, and schedule projects that create or enhance product acquisition and cardholder engagement capabilities for JCPenney
  • Ensure efficient, timely, within Budget and compliant execution of all cardholder marketing campaigns.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma/GED and 8+ years of professional work experience in the financial services field to include:
  • 4+ years of marketing experience preferably in the credit card, co-brand credit card or retail / financial services industries
  • Ability to travel (~10%)

  • Experience working directly with a client partner
  • Strong problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to evaluate situations using multiple sources of information.
  • Experience in writing business requirements to ensure proper program design and organizational support.
  • Strong Budgeting Skills
  • Strong work ethic. Willingness to work collaboratively with a team, and have some fun while doing it.

Grade/Level: 11

The salary range for this position is 75,000.00 - 150,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
