AVP, Marketing Account Management - (In-House Creative Agency)

Role Summary/Purpose:
This discipline builds and nurtures strong relationships with key partners/clients and leads calmly with confidence. Account Managers create an environment for great work to thrive. They set the tone, pace and ways of working. They must weigh and balance partner needs with their teams' ambitions to determine the vision and then make sure everyone is clear on that vision and how to get there. The goal is to help drive the business through creative strategy and storytelling and to do this they must have a solid understanding of today's consumer and how to connect with them in ways that resonate. They are growth-minded leaders with an entrepreneurial spirit and bring a solutions-minded approach to everything they do.
- Who they are: Marketing experts, creative strategy drivers/influencers and key relationship builders. Lead the creative marketing process at scale, with flawless execution.
- What they do: They are the connective tissue between team members. They're also the day-to-day glue between the Studio and SYF stakeholders and build effective relationships with key partners.
- Management responsibilities: Informal mentoring/supervision
This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead large and complex projects with minimal oversight from Account Director
- Provide clear and succinct creative direction and feedback, and contribute to strategic initiatives offering a sound POV
- Be a day-to-day leader and source of clarity and solutions by agency teams across disciplines
- Lead project meetings and presentations internally and with clients
- Understands dynamics of portfolio business and category, and their implications on our work
- Understands bigger-picture agenda and issues on the portfolio, and manages projects with those in mind
- Delivers Studio/creative POV's by using strong creative instincts and client intuition
- Take cues from leadership to set the tone for the team, keeping the team positive and focused on solutions
- Push clients for clarity and help them understand what they need beyond what they ask for
- Comfortable having difficult conversations internally and with key partners
- Able to proxy for Account Director with most senior day-to-day clients
- Keep the account running smoothly across projects and workstreams
- Intuit potential complications and issues, anticipate the needs of senior partners and effectively manage up, bringing solutions to Account Director and leadership.
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree. In lieu of degree a high school diploma and 7 years of work experience as an account/project manager in a fast-paced, creative agency environment.
- 4+ years of experience as an account manager in a fast-paced, creative agency environment or recent graduate or alum of Synchrony's Business Leadership Program

- Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with workflow management software
Eligibility Requirements:
- You must be 18 years or older
- You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
- You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
- New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).

The salary range for this position is 65,000.00 - 130,000.00 USD Annual
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
Grade/Level: 10
