Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Responsible for the onboarding and integration of new clients, and all other client transitions (e.g., terminations, asset mix changes, in-/out-kind transitions)
- Act as the key client contact throughout the on-/off-boarding process to ensure seamless transition to BAU.
- Coordinate account openings/closings, review of legal agreements, internal system set ups, and project planning.
- Project manage and coordinate internal functions to on-/off-board new clients, including Client Service, Sales, Legal, Compliance, and Investment Specialists.
- Support and provide governance and oversight to account maintenance activities performed by Client Services (e.g., amendments to account name, fee schedules, benchmarks, IMA and investment guidelines)
- Maintain and steward mastered client and account data (e.g. client type, tax status, domicile, ERISA status, etc.)
- Assist with ad hoc projects as client transitions subject matter expert.
- Issue resolution - undertake effective issue management practice to ensure timely resolution of key roadblocks, escalating where appropriate.
- Ensure effective and timely communication of transition activity status, particularly with client-facing stakeholders to keep them abreast of key developments.

Nuveen is seeking an Client Transitions Manager for our Client Transitions Group. Client Transitions is responsible for leading all transitions-related activities for institutional clients globally. Most critical this includes new client on-boarding, but it also includes off-boarding due to terminations, in-kind/out-kind transitions, and asset mix and custodian changes. In addition, Client Transitions will play a key role in various account maintenance activities, supporting Client Services as needed with benchmark, account name and fee schedule changes, along with investment management agreement (IMA) and guidelines revisions. The group acts on behalf of the client to find and implement solutions to complex and critical new account setups and transitions requiring interaction across internal Nuveen global partners (e.g., Product, Operations, Client Service, Legal, Finance, Reporting) as well as external client service providers (e.g., Custodians, Administrators, Trustees, Consultants).
Required Skills:
- 5 or more years of experience in client servicing and/or client transitions supporting institutional business.
- Experience and knowledge within public market asset classes
- Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of complex instruments including derivatives and alternatives
- Ability to work & make decisions under pressure, prioritize and meet tight deadlines
- Communication and leadership skills, capable of influencing internal and external stakeholders
- Highly motivated and results driven
- Detail-focused and organized with communication/written/presentation skills
- Self-motivated person with a professional approach who can manage effectively in a diverse team environment

Base Pay Range: $90,000/yr. - $125,000/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
