Role Summary/Purpose:

Synchrony financing products serve more than 100,000 Small Businesses from multiple industries such as Auto, Home, Music, Luxury, Sports, Flooring, Electronics, Jewelry and Sewing and more. The Assistant Vice President, Small Business Marketing Manager is a member of the Small Business Engagement team that focuses on driving acquisition, activation, engagement, and retention of our Small Business partners who offer Synchrony financing products. A key responsibility in this role is to work with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, to create, maintain and measure merchant activation email journeys as well as work closely with Merchant enrollment team to maximize merchant activation. In addition, this role will manage the monthly communication strategy and execution to both Merchants and Associates providing engaging content, learning, and insights. The role will also serve as the Small Business Engagement teams expert on developing emails and managing Workfront for campaign execution.

This role reports to the VP, Small Business Lifecycle Marketing.

This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. Essential Responsibilities:
  • Focused on activating our Small Business partners through series of email communications and coordination with Merchant Enrollment team.
  • Manage email design and content updates to existing email journeys in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and create new strategies to deliver improved performance.
  • Collaborate with merchant acquisition manager to improve consistency and alignment of messaging across merchant welcome and onboarding experience.
  • Maintain consistent monthly email campaigns reaching a large merchant network providing tools, capabilities, insights & reinforcing value of SYF relationship.
  • Work with external creative agencies to develop creatives and gain approvals from legal to bring to market.
  • Monitor effectiveness of email campaigns and provide input on relevant content, design and test scenario's to improve performance.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including Performance Marketing, Legal, IMM's and Sales Managers to achieve goals.
  • Work with team members to drive adoption of new Synchrony products by implementing key messages in current communications.
  • Identify opportunities & create trigger based marketing campaigns to drive engagement with Small Business partners.
  • Small Business Engagement team SME on Workfront and campaign execution.
  • Support marketing for special projects led by Small Business Engagement team members including Fundbox, Dataworks and Small Business Week.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
  • Travel is less than 10%

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or in lieu of degree, high school diploma/GED and 5+ years of marketing experience
  • 3+ years marketing experience to include:
    • Key digital marketing skills including understanding email marketing, tracking and familiarity with CRM systems.

Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience working with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar platform to develop email journeys and marketing campaigns.
  • Experience in using Workfront campaign execution platform to manage email campaigns, legal approvals, and execution of email or direct mail campaigns.
  • Managing external agencies in developing creative and executing campaigns.
  • Project management; documenting and following up on ongoing projects and process via regular communications with team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems, develop new tactics and address implementation obstacles.
  • Ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations and programs.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple levels, functions, sales and retail partners.
  • Excellent written communication skills and project management skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, complex environment and manage multiple projects.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).

The salary range for this position is 65,000.00 - 130,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
