JOB DESCRIPTION:
Officer position will partner with the VP, Small Business Sales & Distribution, acting as the primary business development resource for all new small business program opportunities. This position is responsible for the pursuit, onboarding and operational implementation of new programs to position CNA as a market leader and remain responsive and opportunistic in a rapidly changing distribution environment with key brokers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
1. Responsible for being the primary contact for new Small Business program opportunities, and developing and executing on annual strategic engagement plans with program administrator and broker relationships.
2. Collects program market intelligence detail to identify Small Business program growth opportunities. Stays up-to-date on industry trends and developments.
3. Works in conjunction with business units and branch managers to drive CNA's program growth strategy to advance CNA's market share, visibility and brand.
4. Develops and communicates field and product leadership engagement plans with strategic program administrators and brokers, ensuring absolute connectivity with agreements and strategy at corporate and field levels.
5. Works with CNA subject matter experts to ensure the successful and compliant onboarding of new program opportunities in accordance with Commercial's Onboarding Guidelines for Programs.
6. Leads new program acquisition discussions regarding new Commercial program opportunities.
7. Supports, VP, Small Business Sales & Distribution on various projects within the Small Business Programs Unit.
8. Oversees Programs Development and the Programs Management Teams in compiling metrics, analysis and other reports on the successful execution of book of business transfer for new Programs stewardship plans to management and ongoing stewardship of book, including the reporting package for Small Business Leadership Executive Team review monthly).
9. Leads, directs and has full management accountability for staff in area of responsibility. Manages Program Development and Management Teams in supporting overall growth and sustaining profit for new and current Small Business Programs.
May perform additional duties as assigned.

1. Expert communication skills, which are critical to building consensus across area of influence (external and/or internal relationships), team, and/or matrix environment.
2. Strong working knowledge of the Programs marketplace, underwriting, P&C distribution and trends.
3. Expert negotiation, relationship-building, and presentation skills, which are critical to building consensus across area of influence (external and/or internal relationships).
4. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of CNA's internal and external business partners as well as the ability to train others in new concepts, technology or initiatives.
5. Extremely organized with strong follow-through skills.
6. Strong leadership and influence skills.
7. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
8. Ability to deal with ambiguous situations and issues.
9. Creativity in resolving unique and challenging business problems.
10. Knowledge of Salesforce product suite and strong proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
Education & Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required with MBA or equivalent preferred.
2. Typically a minimum of 10 years of related industry experience.
