The AVP, Worksite Solutions is a new role for Horace Mann’s Worksite Division and will be responsible for supporting a wide variety of programs and projects across the Division including team leadership and the execution of strategic solutions.  The AVP, Worksite Solutions will consult with Division business leaders, internal business partners (IT, HR, Finance), and external vendors to identify, develop, and implement solutions for increased capabilities and efficiencies across the Division.  This key role may also serve as a facilitator and manager for significant and impactful Division projects.  The AVP, Worksite Solutions will work closely with the Worksite Division leader to lead and support the growth and success of the Worksite Division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic project plans with leaders and internal stakeholders
  • Support Division leaders with the preparation of reports and presentations directed at the CEO, COO, and Board of Directors regarding Division performance, programs, projects, and progress.
  • Assess, develop, and implement programs and projects, including management coordination and communication.
  • Lead and facilitate diverse project teams to develop create solutions for increased capabilities and efficiencies across the Division.
  • Assist with the development of Division business strategy, including the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and success with external business partners.
  • Apply effective communication, collaboration, risk mitigation, contingency management, and problem-solving skills to provide excellence to major initiatives.
  • Clearly communicate project issues, decisions, deliverables, and progress across teams and to management.
  • Partner with multiple teams and departments to support end-to-end solutions development and implementation.
  • Serve a significant role in long-term planning, including initiatives aligned with operational excellence.
  • Provide leadership, development coaching, and strategic direction to immediate peer group with a strong focus on operational excellence and continued improvement supported by technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent technical and industry experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry strongly preferred.
  • Leadership competencies inclusive of decision-making, analysis, organization, and initiative.
  • Excellent and well-established communication and project management skills.

Additional Information

  • Periodic travel may be required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Normal office environment
