We are seeking an AWS Cloud Subject Matter Expert to join one of our Federal Agency programs focusing on designing, building, and evolving our client's AWS Cloud environment as well as other cloud initiatives and infrastructure in Washington, DC. This is a pro-active, hands-on role that is client facing. All candidates must be able to obtain a Federal Public Trust clearance.

Successful applicant must comply with federal contractor vaccine mandate requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyze user needs to determine functional requirements, define problems, develop plans and requirements in the subject matter area for moderately complex systems, related to information systems architecture, networking; telecommunications, automation, communications protocols, risk management/electronic analysis, software lifecycle management, software development methodologies, modeling and simulation.
• Perform functional allocation to identify required tasks and their interrelationships.
• Identify resources required for each task. Possess requisite knowledge and expertise recognized in the professional community that the government is able to qualify the individual as an expert in the field for an actual task order.
• Apply commensurate experience in IT and in new and related older technology that directly relates to the required area of expertise.
• Implement Next Generation Secure Cloud infrastructure following current design and specifications.
• Consult with the client on engineering tasks such as design, as well as with internal stakeholders, helping to build and architect new solutions, document client environment details, provide workload-specific documentation, and offer on-call operational guidance.
• Responsible for identifying and negotiating cloud infrastructure improvements, defining requirements, implementation, testing, and training.
• Responsible for executing cost optimization processes.

Work Experience:

• 10+ years enterprise IT experience that includes at least 4 years of hands-on Cloud development, Operations, DevOps engineering, or systems architecture.
• Experience in Design, development, implementation, and operational support of mission critical solutions in large scale environments.
• 6+ years of Cloud computing experience using publicly available services.
• Experience in Hosting a FedRAMP Certified AWS environment is a must.
• Experience working with Terraform & Terraform Cloud API to facilitate infrastructure as code in a CI/CD pipeline.
• Experience with Container Technologies such as Kubernetes
• Experience with public secure cloud technologies and design.
• Multi-platform experience with both Windows & Linux.
• Experience with Web Services & APIs, Load balancing, Networking TCP/IP, Firewalls & Information VPN, Layer 3 Routing, DNS and other common network protocols.
• Experience in Version Control Systems such as : Bit Bucket/Git, GitHub, or equivalent.
• Experience in Continuous Integration/Deployment tools like Jenkins/Code Build and Business Productivity Tools: O365, Confluence, JIRA, Slack.

Job Skills:

• Familiarity with Applications/Platforms and understanding of common application stacks (Tomcat, LAMP), Configuration Management Chef, Ansible, or Puppet Virtualization VMware.
• Databases Familiarity with common database platforms: MySQL, Microsoft SQL, or Oracle is a plus.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree (4 year) in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience required
• Master's Degree is preferred.

Communication Skills:

• Solid Ability to interface, inspire, and motivate at various levels of the organization.
• Demonstrate exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to convey technical information to non-technical individuals.
• Demonstrated ability communicating effectively across internal and external organizations.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

• AWS SysOps Administrator Certification is required
• AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Security Architect, and/or AWS Advanced Networking are preferred.

Environmental Requirements:

• Mainly sedentary; in an office environment.
• May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds.
• Flexible in working extended hours with occasional nights and weekends.
• Travel to different facilities within the DC area may be required.
