Job Description:
Summary
Responsible for the continual automation, integration, deployment, and optimization of software build and deployment systems. Works collaboratively with software engineers to deploy and operate systems across multiple platforms securely and accurately. Keeps a vigilant eye on Black Knight's systems capacity and performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in defining automated monitoring, deployment and repair strategies using a wide variety of Ops tools and monitoring platforms.
- Builds and maintains tools for deployment, monitoring and operations as well as troubleshoots and resolves issues.
- Assists with the Continuous Integration and Continual Deployment (CI/CD) processes and mentors teams to assist with improving their processes.
- Makes sure build and deployment processes are following known best practices.
- Assists with the management and performance of the infrastructure and deployment of applications.
- Evaluates third party software tools and libraries for enterprise needs with risk management.
- Diagnoses, isolates, and debugs application problems and performs problem resolution.
- Monitors systems capacity and performance to allow for scaling of high performance as necessary.
- Performs other duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
- Intermediate professional level role. Works on multiple products, activities, and projects as a project team member, and infrequently as a project team leader. Works on moderately complex tasks, projects, activities, or support issues that require increased skill in multiple technical environments and has expertise in one product/system. Develops solutions requiring moderately complex analysis and research. May coach more junior staff. Typically requires four (4) years of experience in systems administration and/or software development.
- Expertise in cloud computing, storage, and hosting functionality (i.e., cloud computing, storage, hosting functionality).
- Experience working in an environment that utilizes CI/CD processes.
- Must have strong Bash scripting experience.
- Experience working with Python.
- Proficiency in Linux.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in AWS Cloudformation, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, LandingZone, Control Tower, Lambda, SAM, AWS Serverless technologies, Dynamodb, and Timestream.
- Experience developing or supporting Node.js applications.
- Knowledge of source code control tools such as Git (GitLab, GitHub, BitBucket).
- Proficiency with tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Python, Salt, Chef or Puppet.
- Experience managing large number of systems (configuration management systems).
- Experience with container orchestration tool (i.e., Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, etc.) for containerizing applications or services a plus.
- Expertise with monitoring, alerting and incident response tools and performing root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with Agile best practices.
- Experience with automated testing a plus.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop partnership-oriented relationships with business executives and functional leaders, especially as it relates to operations and technology.
- Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment with focus on timeliness, documentation, and communications with peers and business users alike.
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels within the enterprise or outside the organization.
