The AWS Software Engineer is a Full Stack engineer that will play a key role in designing and developing AWS native applications for United States Medicare beneficiaries. Working as part of an agile team, this position will create front end and back-end application components and APIs to support development and enhancement of cloud-based solutions. The successful candidate will be a strong collaborator to deliver a best-in-class customer experience. Responsibilities include:
- Effectively collaborate as part of an agile team in the delivery of software components to includes participation in sprint ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, scrum meetings and retrospectives
- Provide expertise and direction in the development and medication of AWS based Web applications or APIs
- Provide requirements analysis, software design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of custom solutions
- Enable automated deployments to AWS through the creation and use of CI/CD Pipeline
- Document solutions and specifications in Confluence, create and complete user stories via Jira, and collaborate with team members and stakeholders via Slack.
- Collaborate with Operations and Site Reliability Engineering team to leverage available platforms, infrastructure as code templates, and to continuously optimize application performance
- Create front end components using Java, Java Scripts, React or similar languages
- Assist with the development of database entities using Amazon RDS and DynamoDB
- Perform peer reviews of application code and mentor junior developers
Required Qualifications
- BS or advanced degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 8 years Software Development experience
- 5 years developing software applications on AWS
- 3 years of experience in designing, implementing and consuming CI/CD Pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Groovy, Ansible, SonarQube or similar toolsets
- Demonstrated experience building APIs on AWS
- AWS Certified Developer - Associate or AWS Solution Architect – Associate
- Very Strong Java skills and experience required
- Experience with program languages and technologies including Groovy, Python, Bash, Go, Markdown, XML, JSON, SQL, ReactJS, CSS, XHTML
- Experience with AWS Database such as Amazon RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB
- Experience using GitHub, Jira, Confluence, TestRail
- Experience building, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise applications while maintaining 24/7 availability
