Job Summary

Responsible for planning and designing new software and web applications. Edits new and existing applications. Implements, testing and debugging defined software components. Documents all development activity. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and settles integration needs.
  • Evaluates and plans software designs, test results and technical manuals.
  • Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
  • Programs new software, web applications and supports new applications under development and the customization of current applications.
  • Edits and reviews technical requirement's documentation.
  • Works with Quality Assurance team to settle if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
  • Displays knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
  • Displays knowledge of and ability to apply, process design & redesign skills and project management skills.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Ability to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as vital.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Additional Job Description :

  • Produce data and platform architecture design artifacts
  • Craft and develop architecture documentation for technical and business leadership
  • Help maintains the integrity and security of the real-time streaming data platform
  • Facilitate the end-to-end platform activities (architecture, integration, engineering, DevOps) and contingencies
  • Define user stories that distill complex business problems into simple and clear terms, which technical teams can both understand and act on, enabling efficient development cycles while minimizing bottlenecks and risks
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners across Comcast to understand how associated data projects adhere to the broader customer & employee journey roadmap
  • Act as an AWS subject matter expert and help foster knowledge transfers and system/platform requirements
  • Demonstrable experience building and operating platforms at significant scale
  • Expert in Python and object oriented programming practices
  • Hands-on development with most of the following AWS services: Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, IAM, CloudWatch, Kinesis, AWS Managed Kafka services, CloudFormation, AWS code pipeline, Grafana
  • AWS certifications are a plus
  • Skilled using git
  • Comfortable working in a distributed team that operates in highly dynamic environment utilizing Agile, Scrum, SAFE methodologies
  • Perform code reviews
  • Participate in making major technical and architectural decisions
  • Establish and document development and testing best practices
  • Assist with cloud-based infrastructure planning and implementation
  • Versed in AWS cost management
  • Work with partners and technical architects on requirements definition
  • Maintain technical documentation
  • Assist in the ongoing system support and maintenance
  • Have a track record of solving technical challenges and owning critical systems
  • Recognize weaknesses in our technology and organization, and provide constructive feedback
  • Be knowledgeable of fundamental computer science concepts

Compensation

This job can be performed in Denver Campus, with a Pay Range of $87,529.82 USD - $137,262.68 USD

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a Bonus.
