Job Description
Join our Data & AI practice as an AWS Architect, delivering high-impact, client-facing data transformation initiatives across industries.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AWS Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, cloud-native solutions, and AI/ML technologies, with a specific focus on AWS and Amazon Bedrock. As an AWS Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising AWS-based data and AI solutions to meet the needs of our clients, and guiding high-performance teams in modern approaches and best practices. You'll have the opportunity to leverage the latest tools to enable our clients with modern, AI-ready Data Platforms powered by generative AI.

What good looks like at 12 months
- Has led end-to-end architecture on at least one major AWS engagement, from design through to production
- Is the default technical authority on AWS and Bedrock design decisions within the team
- Has contributed to at least one presales or solutioning conversation alongside senior practice leadership
- Has introduced or reinforced architectural standards around cloud-native and AI-driven solutions that the wider team now follows
A typical week
- 50% hands-on AWS architecture and delivery: data platform design, Bedrock integration, and cloud-native solution development
- 25% technical leadership: guiding development teams, conducting design reviews, and setting best practice standards
- 15% client and stakeholder engagement: gathering requirements, presenting solutions, and building senior client relationships
- 10% presales and solutioning: contributing to proposals, RFPs, and project estimates
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, cloud-native data architectures on AWS, leveraging services such as Amazon S3, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, Kinesis, and Amazon Bedrock
- Architect end-to-end generative AI and ML solutions using Amazon Bedrock, including foundation model selection, prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and agent-based workflows
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions on the AWS platform
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams on AWS best practices, Well-Architected Framework principles, and AI/ML design patterns
- Partner with senior technical and business leaders to build relationships, gather and define requirements, provide presales support, and solution projects
- Work with Data Architects and Modellers to advise on relevant, effective, and efficient cloud-native and AI-driven solutions
Key skills
- Deep understanding of AWS architecture including compute (EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS), storage (S3, EFS), networking (VPC, Direct Connect), and data services (Redshift, RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora), along with cost optimisation, resource governance, and integration with observability tools such as CloudWatch and Datadog
- Hands-on expertise with Amazon Bedrock including foundation model deployment and management, prompt engineering, fine-tuning strategies, RAG pipelines using Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Bases, and building multi-agent orchestration workflows with Bedrock Agents
- Strong experience designing and implementing data platforms and data warehouse solutions on AWS using services such as Amazon Redshift, AWS Glue, AWS Lake Formation, and integrating with modern data tools (dbt, Apache Airflow, Fivetran, Apache Kafka/MSK)
- Knowledge of AWS security features including IAM roles and policies, AWS KMS, Amazon Macie, VPC security, data encryption, and compliance with regulatory frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2)
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation), CI/CD pipelines, and scripting (Python, SQL, Shell) to automate deployments, environment setup, and monitoring; experience with AWS SageMaker for ML model training, deployment, and MLOps
- Understanding of Amazon Bedrock's AI/ML capabilities including built-in foundation models (Anthropic Claude, Amazon Titan, Meta Llama), vector search via OpenSearch Serverless, and Bedrock Guardrails for responsible AI
- Strong communication skills and ability to learn quickly
