AWS Solutions Architect (Remote, Canada)

The Opportunity

Nearform is seeking a passionate and hands-on AWS Solutions Architect to join our growing team. You will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and deploying secure and scalable cloud solutions on AWS for our clients. This role requires deep expertise in AWS services and a collaborative spirit to work alongside developers, DevOps engineers, and other architects.

What You'll Do:

• Design, architect, and implement highly available, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions on AWS using best practices and proven architectures.
• Deep dive into client requirements to understand their business needs and translate them into robust, secure AWS cloud solutions.
• Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
• Collaborate with developers and DevOps engineers to implement solutions, write clean and maintainable code, and ensure smooth deployments.
• Continuously monitor and optimize deployed solutions for performance, security, and cost efficiency.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AWS services and technologies.
• Participate in knowledge sharing sessions and mentor junior team members.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an AWS Solutions Architect with a strong understanding of core AWS services like EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, and CloudFormation.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, including writing reusable modules and managing complex infrastructure deployments.
• Experience designing and implementing DevOps pipelines for continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) on AWS.
• Solid understanding of cloud security principles and best practices for securing cloud deployments on AWS.
• Hands-on experience with scripting languages like Python or Bash for automating tasks.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• A passion for learning and staying current with the latest AWS technologies.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with serverless architectures and serverless frameworks like AWS Lambda.
• Experience with cloud cost optimization techniques.
