Back End Engineer - Product Led Growth

Team Description

This team works in the Growth Engineering area as one of the core feature teams. Our mission is to build features and functionality across Pendo to grow our user base and drive revenue. We develop the Pendo Free and Trial bundles of features and functionality so our users can experience what is available and evaluate their value before purchase.  We are also working on Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) based chatbot, functionality around branding with LLMs, and developing a data store to enable faster time to market for multiple AI use cases at Pendo. 

Role Responsibilities 

• Write maintainable, high-quality code that contributes to the team's commitments in feature delivery
• Build an understanding of the technology and code within the team's domain
• Participate and make meaningful contributions to scrum team activities and ceremonies
• Step up and take ownership of work within the team, then break it down with input from peers
• Balance competing priorities effectively
• Demonstrate self-awareness and continuous improvement

Minimum Qualifications 

• 3+ years experience working in a compiled programming language such as Go, Python, etc.
• Knowledge of REST APIs
• Modern collaboration tools (such as git, npm, GitHub)
• Experience writing testable code
• Critical thinking & problem solving
• Experience working on a highly collaborative team (code reviews, mentoring, brainstorming), giving & receiving technical feedback

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience optimizing for rapid iterations driven by the experiment, build, iterate mentality.
• Experience collaborating with Product, Marketing, Revenue, and of course other Engineering teams.

Compensation

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide.

The expected salary range for this role to be performed in North Carolina is USD$105,000 - USD$120,000.

Individual pay rate decisions, including offers made within and over the expected salary range, are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company.
