Your contribution to something big: 

The Power Tools Division of the Bosch Group is the world market leader for power tools and power tool accessories. The Global Digital Unit is efficiently bundling digital activities across all Business Units of Bosch Power Tools. As a Backend Engineer within this division:

• You will be part of an interdisciplinary team creating an IoT focussed App and the Cloud components for a platform;
• You will be responsible for the development and operations of a microservice that mobile and web apps will use;
• You will implement suitable messaging, storage mechanisms, and related items (data models, database choice and topologies, scaling foundation, etc.);
• Automate the deployment and operations of cloud infrastructure (Azure, Azure DevOps) by utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code.

What distinguishes you:

• Education: Degree in Computer Engineering or similar;
• Experience: Experience with Java and SpringBoot, ideally also Kotlin or other modern languages. Experience with SQL and no-SQL databases as well as messaging technologies (ideally Kafka). Experience in Agile software development & operations;
• Know-How: Knowledge and interest in Cloud, IoT and CI/CD technologies; Knowledge on cloud automation (Pulumi or Terraform) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes);
• Personality: Proactive, responsible and keen about technology. You have fun working with wonderful people on a diverse international team;
• Work style: Organized and analytical work style with a problem-solving mindset;
• Languages: Good communication skills in English;
• Willingness to travel and work as a part of an international team (for short periods, as required).
