Job Description
WW is looking for candidates to help change people's lives. We are a global wellness technology company inspiring millions of people to adopt healthy habits for real life. We do this through engaging digital experiences, face-to-face workshops and sustainable programs that encourage people to move more, shift their mindset and eat healthier while enjoying the foods they love. By drawing on over five decades of experience and expertise in behavioral science, we build communities in order to deliver wellness for all.
Who we are
We believe that kickstarting members in a setting where members can build emotional and programmatic supportive relationships will help them unlock greater success on their personal weight loss journey. The goal is to allow new members to interact with other new members in convenient, digital settings. We'll determine how to group these members, most likely through a combination of demographics, weight-to-lose, and tenure. Working as a team of 3 backend engineers to build and iterate on the backend architecture, APIs, and our vendor partner integration.
What you will do:
We're looking for Mid to Senior level Software Engineers that are excited to build world-class software, solve difficult problems, and above all, help our members. Our primary technologies are Node.js/Express, but we also choose the right tool for the right job. We work on small teams and collaborate with people across engineering, product, and design to build fast, reliable, and beautiful software that's used by members around the world.
You will learn about how WW "does tech" while also learning about WW's culture and agile environment. We promise that you will be challenged and supported! You will work on projects that span across our applications as you learn and understand the purpose behind everything we do. Your manager will partner with you to understand your career goals and to develop a plan to help you reach them.
Who you are:
- Develop features/enhancements using Node.js/Express.
- Propose and discuss architecture improvements and engineering best practices with your team.-Review team pull requests. We use code reviews as a tool to maintain design and implementation consistency across our team. They're also a great way for us to share knowledge with each other.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to determine the best solution to a problem.
- Partner with other engineering teams across WW on large initiatives. For example, working with our Coach Tech team to pull in community posts, or coordinating with our Data Science team to pull in aggregated member data
