Backend Engineer

We are looking for a Backend engineer to join our growing Product Engineering team to help build a scalable system that serves millions of users.

The Backend Engineer will support operations Kotlin/Java & .Net best practices.

The engineer will be part of a larger effort to build applications that support the CDC Modernization Initiative by joining the team of 20 which is comprised of designers, software engineers, product owners, and DevOps engineers.

Mechanicode is a remote-first company, and this role will be 100% remote.

Required

• Must be a U.S citizen or green-card holder
• 7+ years of experience, with 4+ years of relevant expertise in Kotlin and/or Java development
• Experience in C#, .Net Core, SQL Server, XML, JSON and REST web services
• Ability to pass a background check and obtain a public trust security clearance

Essential Skills, Experience, and Competencies:

• Proficient in back-end (server) including client-server integrations, APIs, and data persistence.
• Experience in Azure Event Hubs, Azure Functions, App Services, Data Lakes, App Insights
• Proficient with important libraries and technologies in the ecosystem of programming language expertise.
• Proficient with the unit testing frameworks appropriate to the language of expertise.
• Experience with building applications in containerized cloud environments like AWS/Azure.
• Expert in git actions like cloning, creating branches, navigating between branches, staging code for commit, committing code, resetting, merging, rebasing, squashing, and cherry-picking.
• Demonstrated interest in and ability to learn new systems and technology quickly.
• Ability to discuss technical tasks and team process topics with team members and outside stakeholders.
• Ability to operate and manage work, strategically reason, and build relationships, and influence others.
