Role Overview :

At Jimdo we are committed to providing innovative solutions that empower our users' creativity. Our backend systems are a cornerstone of this promise. As a Backend Engineer you'll play a pivotal role in strengthening and scaling these systems ensuring they remain robust efficient and effective. The Product Platform team is providing platformized resilient and scalable components that seamlessly integrate into the Jimdo ecosystem tailored to be used by millions of users.

What you’ll be doing:

• Design develop and optimize API services with a keen focus on scalability reliability and performance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams understanding requirements and ensuring that the backend solutions integrate seamlessly with other components.

• Uphold a high standard of code quality through code reviews testing and adherence to best practices.

• Diagnose and resolve backend issues aiming for minimal downtime and optimum performance.

• Stay updated with the latest industry trends technologies and best practices in backend development.

• Provide insights and feedback to the Expert Engineer and other stakeholders ensuring the technical feasibility and timeline of backend solutions.

What you bring to the table:

• 3+ years of experience in backend development.

• Experience in Kotlin or Java. Proficiency in Kotlin is a big plus.

• Hands-on experience with REST APIs microservices architecture and cloud platforms like AWS Azure or Google Cloud.

• Solid understanding of software architecture design patterns and best practices in backend development.

• Strong problem-solving analytical and communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

• Familiarity with frontend technologies specifically JavaScript TypeScript or React is a plus.
