THE ROLE:

As a Backend Engineer specializing in cloud-native development and serverless technologies at our cutting-edge sports media platform, you will play a critical role in developing backend systems that power immersive sports experiences for millions. Utilizing AWS's serverless solutions, you will create scalable, efficient, and innovative applications that support real-time analytics, interactive fan engagements, and content delivery at scale. This role is a blend of technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and collaboration with a dynamic team to push the boundaries of sports media technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop & Implement Cloud Solutions: Design and deploy serverless backend solutions using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and other AWS services for real-time sports analytics and fan engagement.
• Enhance Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure: Optimize cloud resources for peak performance during major sports events, ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient operations.
• Promote Collaboration & Best Practices: Work with developers, designers, and product managers to innovate in the sports media space. Share knowledge and mentor team members in cloud-native development practices.
• Drive Project Oversight & Strategy: Take ownership of projects from inception to deployment, aligning backend solutions with strategic business goals. Lead in agile practices and sprint planning.
• Commit to Continuous Learning & Improvement: Stay ahead of the latest trends in serverless computing and cloud-native technologies, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Cloud Platforms: Advanced knowledge of AWS serverless architecture, including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB.
• Programming Languages: Proficiency in backend development languages such as Python, Node.js, or Java.
• Database Technologies: Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, understanding their integration into cloud-based applications.
• DevOps & CI/CD: Familiarity with CI/CD tools, infrastructure as code (IaC), and automated testing frameworks to support continuous integration and deployment processes.
• Cloud Architecture: Deep understanding of cloud-native development principles, serverless architectures, and microservices.
• Security Practices: Knowledge of security best practices in the cloud environment, ensuring the integrity and safety of sensitive sports data.
• Scalability & Performance: Proven ability to design systems that efficiently handle high traffic volumes during live sports events.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Creative and effective problem-solving abilities, especially in high-pressure situations.
• Leadership: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
• Innovation: A passion for innovation, with a keen interest in exploring new technologies and methodologies in sports technology.
• Project Management: Experience with agile development practices and the ability to lead projects from concept to deployment.
