Job Description:

From building next-generation apps and microservices in modern programming languages and tech stack to using AI to help protect our customers from fraud. You will be doing ground-breaking work that brings our iconic, global brand into the future. As a Full Stack Engineer, you will be part of a scrum team, building core features and functions of the assisted servicing platform deployed in a private Kubernetes-based cloud.

• Has hands-on expertise with Java application design, software development and automated testing.
• Worked in an agile delivery team and is familiar with the processes and ceremonies.
• Has an aim to learn industry leading/innovative technologies and solutions.
• Is open to innovation and experimentation, engage in fun and outcome-oriented culture, and is always ready to try new concepts without fear of failure.
• Is team-oriented, and a core contributor, enabling the team to be more effective and productive.
• Have excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Tech Stack Skills:

• Java microservices for high-availability systems
• Scalable applications running on Vert.x, Spring Boot or similar
• Java 8, RxJava, Reactor, Kafka
• API Gateways
• Relational Databases: Oracle, Postgres
• NoSQL: Redis, Couchbase, Cassandra
• Dedication to cloud infrastructure (PaaS)

Responsibilities:

• Implementing user stories for distributed, scalable, high performant and systems using Java (preferably Java 11 or later).
• Debug software components and identify code defects for remediation.
• Deployment, support and monitoring of software across test, integration and production environments.
• Collaborate with peer technology and development teams across different locations.
• Document technical solutions.

Qualifications. - 5+ years of software development experience in a professional environment and/or comparable experience such as:

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related experience required; advanced degree preferred
• 4+ years of experience with Java 8 or later required.
• 2+ years required with at least one other modern programming language such as Node.js/JavaScript, Scala, Python, or GO.
• Hands-on experience in development of highly scalable, dedication to backend applications using a variety of technologies, with specific expertise in Enterprise Java (including sophisticated design pattern & common libraries) and cloud native technologies required.
• Intermediate technical skills in the areas of microservices, APIs, distributed Messaging and Cloud Computing.
• Intermediate Experience with relational databases, including writing and debugging sophisticated queries required.

Desired:

• Significant hands-on experience on enterprise software development.
• Hands-on coding experience in One Amex suite of platforms and products, especially One App, One Data, One Stream etc. is a plus
• Knowledge in microservices using RESTful APIs and relational/NoSQL databases.
• Experience with other JVM languages e.g. Groovy, Kotlin.
• Messaging and distributed systems using Kafka.
• Designing and building Cloud native applications for cloud platforms using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Experience with public clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure)

Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
