Backend Engineers - Phoenix squad, Commerce Platform

The Phoenix squad owns the Orders and Fulfilment domains in Spotify Commerce Platform, including multiple backend services and data sets that manage purchasing and provisioning flows for Premium, Audiobooks, Learning, and other key bets.

We are looking for two full time Backend Engineers (Engineer II and Senior Engineer) to build the next generation of our stack, including new services and data pipelines, unified checkout across commerce, and North Star domain model for current and future Spotify business models. 

What You'll Do

• Own solution design and implementation of new capabilities end-to-end in Order Management System and Fulfilment services.
• Work on foundational entity data sets for new Commerce Platform Data Vision.
• Work on impactful company bets across many verticals, including Premium and Audiobook expansion and experimental mountain bets.
• Focus on operation excellence and building scalable, resilient, and efficient solutions.
• Experiment, learn, hack, grow, and have some fun (see country-specific policies for company recommended amounts of fun per year).
• This role has on-call rotation

Who You Are

• Experience building and scaling Golden Path (Java) services on Google Cloud Platform.
• Interest in data and data pipelines (Scio).
• Excellent problem-solving and fast decision-making skills with strong bias for action.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Comfortable driving engineering deep dives and workshops, as well as customer demos.
• Bonus: Experience with e-commerce or financial engineering domains. 

Where You'll Be

• This role will ideally be located in the UK, Sweden or potentially one of our other EMEA locations *excluding NL, Germany and France for now due to on call restrictions.
• Working hours? We operate within the Central European and GMT time zones for collaboration and ask that all be located in that time zone.
