Backend Java Software Engineer

As a Java Engineer, you will write clean and efficient code for various applications and run tests to improve system functionality. Your core responsibilities will include implementing and maintaining Java components and frameworks throughout the software development life cycle. 

While we are actively seeking talent for this role, this position and any subsequent offer is conditional pending contract award. 

• Execute all position responsibilities in alignment with Slingshot’s core values, mission, and purpose
• Analyze user and system requirements
• Design flowcharts to illustrate software solutions
• Write efficient code based on feature specifications
• Develop user interfaces
• Prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
• Design database architecture
• Test and debug Java applications
• Validate software functionality and security
• Perform other duties as assigned (to be less than 10% of the responsibilities listed above)

• Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for government clearances

• Ability to obtain and maintain TS SCI (Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information) clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field 
• 3+ years experience as a Java Software Engineer, Java Developer or similar role
• Experience working in Linux environment 
• Experience with REST API design and implementation
• Experience with  Git or SVN
• Experience with Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) ex. Postgres, MySql, etc. 
• Experience with Build Orchestrator Experience (Jenkins, Gitlab CICD, etc.) 
• Familiarity with Object-Oriented Design (OOD)
• Experience with test-driven development

• Familiarity with Spring Framework
• Familiarity with ORM such as Hibernate 
• Docker/Kubernetes experience 
• Familiarity with AWS (S3, SQS, SNS)
• Experience in aerospace industry
• TS/SCI with current Counterintelligence Polygraph

Location: Remote 

Pay Range: $142,500-$172,500

Classification: Full time Exempt (learned professional exemption)
