Backend Python Engineer Accu Trade

About the Role:

Accu-Trade (www.accu-trade.com) a new addition to the Cars family, creates SaaS software that makes it easy for consumers get a guaranteed price when selling their used vehicle, and gives dealers tools to understand the used vehicle market, make the right decision when purchasing vehicles from consumer or other dealers, and gives dealers clear insights into how to best monetize their inventory. Our products are used by thousands of consumers and dealers daily.

We are looking for a knowledgeable, experienced all around Python Django DRF superstar to help build out and maintain API for our suite of web apps. We have a robust set of dealer and consumer facing automotive applications, and while our core PHP API is mature, we are always adding new features and functionality. The ideal candidate would have deep experience in both Django and MySQL, and have experience working with front-end developers to produce API output that works well with modern Angular frontends.

We use modern tools to improve our productivity and are always looking to include innovative new approaches to our process. We run on Angular/Django/DRF and AWS. We've been remote since our inception and have a great culture built around online communication and collaboration.

We are looking for someone with experience including:

• 5+ Django framework / DRF, ideally with REST framework development
• 5+ MySQL and PostgresSQL 
• Comfort building new application features as well as maintaining and refactoring existing code
• Sr. level MySQL and PostgresSQL experience, with skills around SQL optimization
• Experience working in a CI/CD environment 
• Experience working in a fully remote environment with an agile team
• Ability to work with QA to quickly identify and resolve tough to troubleshoot issues
• Experience with swagger or other documentation tools
• Ability to write clearly and concisely and document processes and code
• Automated test experience 

Bonus:

• Automotive industry experience is a nice plus!
