Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Engineering Manager for a small team size to join our team. The successful candidate will lead a team of skilled backend engineers, improve internal processes, manage resources efficiently, and enhance our backend infrastructure. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills and a deep understanding of backend technologies and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead: Motivate, mentor, and inspire a team of engineers to achieve their full potential. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.

• Build the team: Hire a high-caliber team of software engineers to solve arising problems while being hands on.

• Manage Resources: Ensure proper distribution of engineering work to align with the product and company priorities.

• Engineering Excellence: Work with Engineering leaders to ensure engineering efficiency and that technical decisions meet our quality, performance, scalability, and product goals. 

• Reliability: Define and maintain SLAs/SLOs of the set of services that belong to your vertical.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.

• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to align team goals with the overall product strategy and company vision.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to make decisions with data and under more ambiguous scenarios.

• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.

Nice to have:

• Experience in a blockchain-based project

• Expertise in handling production incidents

• Experience in leading a fully remote team
