The Baggage Specialist is responsible for the handling of all baggage service issues, processes and procedures, including training and coordination of communication with the individual stations. Provides operational support to both frontline Team members, Business partners, Stations, as well as Guests with mitigating/resolving escalated concerns, and baggage issues and completing procedural transactions.
Here’s what you’ll doÂ- Resolves any baggage issues, especially those which may affect regularly scheduled operations, and evaluates overall operation impact of baggage delays, pilferage, or lost bags including any approved reimbursement.
- Liaison with Guest Empowerment Team (GET) and stations in resolving mishandled baggage service issues
- Monitors e-mail correspondence, from Guests regarding delayed and lost baggage.
- Coordinates with the Business Partners to correctly charge responsible parties for baggage delivery fees.
- Performs additional duties and tasks as required by the Regional Manager, Station Operations and Guest Services.
- Develop and maintain credible working relationships with inter-departmental contacts
- Act as a Stations and GET liaison for inter-departmental projects
- Ensure affected areas/departments are included in communication regarding baggage
- Update and maintain reference materials, as appropriate
- Achieve performance measures and adhere to established standards in conjunction with Breeze Aviation Group Values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity, and Excellence
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- Two (2) years of Airline customer service experience
- Experience working the Baggage Service Office (BSO) or similar function using WorldTracer and/or NetTracer or other program
- High-performance orientation, ability to work well under pressure, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Self-starter, must have a positive attitude and strong desire for success
- Ability to work shift hours to cover a 24/7 operation including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Complete projects on time with minimal supervision, ability to work varied hours when necessary to meet deadlines
- Able to work from or travel to Bases
- Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Self-starter with a positive attitude and strong desire for success
- Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents, or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including Breeze’s confidential reporting systems: Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR)
- 2 year or 4-year degree
- 2 years airport operations experience
- Previous airline experience
- High-speed internet with recommended speeds of 25Mbps up and down
- Excellent computer skills with functional knowledge of Microsoft Office (MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects, make decisions, and meet deadlines
- Ability to read and understand complex documents and rewrite the information in simpler terms
- Ability to work from concepts to create completed works
- Ability to serve as a liaison between other areas of the company
- Ability to work as a Team Member with a strong customer service orientation
- Ability to work with confidential material
