BC/BE Hospice and Palliative Care Physician

We currently have an opening for a full-time BC/BE Hospice and Palliative Care Physician to join the Hospice team of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.  This physician will work alongside the physician medical director, a nurse practitioner, nurses, CNAs, chaplains, social workers, volunteers and administration on both the home based hospice teams and at the SRHS Hospice Home.

• Team Physician for 2/4 patient care teams in home hospice program
• Rounding at the SRHS Hospice Home
• Attend IDG meetings
• Attending physician for patients on team
• Home visits within 4 county service area
• After-hours and weekend on call (phone call only)
• Weekend coverage for inpatient hospice house
• Core Faculty for HPM Fellowship program, responsible for the Hospice requirement of the HPM Fellow
• HPM Fellowship related administrative duties
• Patient related administrative duties
• PSLF approved institution

For nearly 40 years, Spartanburg Regional Hospice has served patients and families in Upstate South Carolina with excellent end-of-life care.  Spartanburg Regional Hospice is a non-profit hospice agency offering outpatient (home-based) hospice care as well as specialized inpatient care via a freestanding 15-bed hospice home.  Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System is proud to the have the first ACGME accredited Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship in South Carolina.  The fellowship is in its eleventh year with graduating fellows continuing to find competitive positions in both Hospice and Palliative Medicine Positions.
