Summary of the Project 

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Administration for Community Living (ACL) aims to enhance the independence, well-being, and health of older adults and people with disabilities. The Enterprise IT Services (EITS) project focuses on providing operational and developmental support for ACL’s enterprise-level cloud-based infrastructure and cybersecurity services. The ACL utilizes a hybrid multi-cloud architecture, primarily leveraging Microsoft Azure government cloud services with a FedRAMP moderate authorization, ensuring a secure and compliant environment for its various programs. 

About the Cloud Engineer 

The Cloud Engineer will be instrumental in maintaining and optimizing the ACL’s cloud environment as part of the EITS project. This role involves managing cloud infrastructure, ensuring its security, and supporting the migration of applications and websites into the cloud. The Cloud Engineer will work closely with various stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain cloud solutions that meet organizational requirements and federal guidelines.

In addition to infrastructure management, the Cloud Engineer will be responsible for monitoring system performance, conducting security assessments, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment. The Cloud Engineer will play a key role in enhancing the cloud environment’s reliability, security, and scalability. 

What you bring to the table 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in cloud engineering or a similar role.

• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Experience with cloud migration, infrastructure management, and automation.

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect are preferred.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

BCT offers a competitive total compensation package that, for this position includes base pay with a starting annual salary range of $125,000 - $135,000 (based on qualifications), along with a generous benefits package. This is a remote position, located in any of the fifty United States or Washington, DC. BCT Partners works primarily on Eastern Time, though we do have staff in all four time zones.
